Home About Us What we do

What we do

Brinksway School is a small, independent school catering for autistic children and young people aged 4 – 19 who may have a range of additional needs.

As a school and dedicated family team we use best practice strategies and interventions to deliver highly individualised learning opportunities for our pupils, combining core National Curriculum subjects within an overarching, bespoke autism-specific curriculum.

We are ambitious about what each of our pupils can achieve, regardless of their starting point, and take pride in recording, sharing and celebrating the progress they each make as individuals.

Vision

Together we inspire each other to thrive; doing our best in everything we do.

Aims

Together we will:

  • Make sure everyone feels safe, respected, happy and interested in learning.
  • Adopt a child centred approach in everything we do.
  • Develop and build positive and meaningful relationships with all members of the school family.
  • Work therapeutically to develop the whole child personally, emotionally and academically through a consistent and nurturing approach.
  • Provide a broad, balanced, exciting, memorable and enriching curriculum.
  • Be creative and implement innovative approaches which meet the individual needs of our learners.
  • Celebrate success and achievements, both big and small.
  • Have high expectations and dream big!
